Impermanence or See You Later Alligator
Impermanence is one of the fundamental teachings of Buddhism.
The term expresses the Buddhist notion that every conditioned existence, without exception, is inconstant and in flux, even gods
Why am I writing about Buddhist teachings on a WoW blog? Because the concept of impermanence is internal to understanding a mandala.
You start with a grain of sand, you then put another and another, building an intricate pattern, bit by bit until you have something that looks like this:
Now take your hand, place it a corner and with a firm, decisive stroke, run your hand across it.
Gone.
That is impermanence. Everything, regardless of how beautiful, or how much work you put into it, is subject to change, and that change can mean an end.
Gun Loving Dwarf Chick, like the mandala above, has been built bit by bit, grains of readers, comments, posts, Pookie, encouragement, sweat and even tears.
It is with a firm, but a sad heart that I decide to wipe my hand across the GLDC’s mandala.
This may seem sudden and I sorry if it comes as a shock, but the decision to close GLDC has not happened overnight. Over the last few months, be it my own wading enjoyment of the game, the fact I am playing a priest or that I now have a verbal “blog” on Twisted Nether, the need to write on GLDC and my enthusiasm for it has gone the way of the dodo. All things much come to end, and sadly, it is GLDC’s turn. It has become glaring apparent I was clinging to something past its time and realizing that fact, I also knew I would not fill your readers with subpar filler posts and desperate attempts to continuing. I care too much for all of you to do that.
I am saying goodbye to GLDC and it is with a fond heart ,Pookie and I look back and say, “Man it was a great ride.” However, because of you are so full of win, I can’t not leave the blogging world completely.
I am not disappearing from the WoW community, just, changing location if you will. I will be moving permanently over to the Twisted Nether Blogcast, where I will still talk about WoW, priests, maybe some hunter stuff and whatever else I feel like.
Gun Loving, will remain live, but this post will be the last entry in it.
Pookie and I would like to thank each of you for making this such an phenomenal experience, for enriching my life in ways you will never know, and for taking this little dwarf and her ravager into your hearts.
We will miss you.

First you write such a wonderful post as the one the other day about preserving your landscape. And I was still savouring it when you declared that you’re about to shut down. This indeed is a sad day. Your posts have been a bit scarse, but you have brilliance, you really have.
All this said I really understand your decision. I never could figure out how you could even try to keep blogging while running the show. It appeared to be mission impossible. I’m glad we’ll still enjoy your great interviews, funny remarks and lovely laughter in the nether, so good luck on your continuing mission as a blogcaster.
It’s a bit shocking to see so many good bloggers go at once. Resto4life, you and the smaller, but still wonderfull blogger Group of Words as well. I feel a bit abandoned. But I guess it’s the lifecycle of the Blogosphere. New ones will spawn. Still: we won’t forget the ones who have quit our pastures. And one day I guess I’ll join you too. No blog will last forever.

I have been wondering how you found the energy for two blogs, two podcasts, your writing projects, and running AUO.
It was a difficult decision I am sure, one that I will face too some day.

I tend to be simply a reader of blogs; I often just lurk the comments and forums. (In fact, I could probably count on one hand the comments that I myself have posted on websites.) But for whatever reason, I feel compelled to drop my own little something to this post.
I’ve been reading your blog for several months now. I have always enjoyed your writing style, and it was always nice to come here and see a new post. Your posts always seemed to indicate that you just plain had *fun* with the game, which is an aspect that I like seeing in WoW players.
So I just wanted to say that I, as this “nobody” little blog reader, will miss seeing your posts here. But it’s reassuring to know that you aren’t leaving us entirely. I look forward to following your personal blog (which I only just learned about recently) and the Twisted Nether Blogcast. I have already been a regular listener of the podcast for some time. In fact, I was the listener who wrote to BRK about gold rewards from quests.
So I look forward to following your continued writings and podcasts. Rest assured that even if I don’t leave a comment or send an e-mail in response to each post or episode, you have a fan here.
